I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting some fantastic entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, philanthropists, and all-around badass humans. What I’ve noticed is they all have one thing in common:
The kind of confidence that draws you in and inspires action.
Confidence as a business owner is key to success, both personally and professionally, and a key ingredient in how to market your business online.
Because if you don’t believe in yourself or your mission, why would anyone else?
If you’re not self-motivated and inspirational, how can you influence others?
And if winning isn’t important to you, then is defeat? Because from the outside, that’s what it’ll look like. Both a winning attitude and a defeatist one are contagious. And you wanna be catching the good stuff.
So, have you ever had these questions pop into your mind, leaving you flooded with doubt:
Do I really have what it takes to make the impact I dream of and hit those massive goals I envision?
Is it too late, and can I really catch up?
Can I keep up at the pace needed and have the lifestyle I dream of without becoming anxious and burned out?
It can sound a little overwhelming and out of reach when you start to think about all the intricate details of running a business. But I promise you, the world needs your gifts!
There are people out there who need to hear your voice and will value your unique skill set. Let’s make sure you have the confidence to show up for them.
I want to share some of the best advice my mentors have given me that boosted my confidence both personally and professionally. I think these will really help you too.
Relationships are built on results. To establish any great relationship, the results have to be there.
So, be bold enough to ask for what you want and to hold others accountable for the results. You’ll be surprised how far this clarity will take your vision and align you with the right people.
With limited time, resources, and support, it’s critical as the CEO, you only focus on what you can control.
Easier said than done, I know, but it’s all about impact and speed to perform. If you get distracted by things you can’t control, it will suck the life out of your vision and completely waste your time. You’ve only got so much of it and energy to give in a day. Use it wisely and protect it.
Eliminate the clutter. Kill the noise. If it’s not controllable, then it’s pure distraction.
Not only can you not do it all, but you also shouldn’t do it all!
Part of the growing pains most entrepreneurs experience is knowing they need help. Still, they struggle with letting go for fear of losing control.
The number one indicator you’re winning? It’s how many people you bring along with you.
Don’t fear investing in people early. Collaboration and hiring should be a priority and happen one relationship at a time.
Your thoughts become your actions, your actions become your habits, and your habits become your legacy.
Prepare your mind to embrace the journey because you either win or you learn. And, as long as you’re moving forward, you’re on your way to the top.
If you catch yourself slipping with negative energy or thoughts, flip the script. Can’t is just a glorified won’t.
Be honest with yourself and what you are willing to fight for, and don’t take no for an answer!
So, make sure you’re crystal clear on who you’re talking to. If you’re trying to help everyone, you’ll end up helping no one.
Be clear and concise, not cute and clever. The internet is saturated with flashy gurus when really all your ideal client wants is a simple solution. Make it clear who you’re trying to serve and how you can solve their problem.
With so much noise and comparisons these days, it’s easy to feel defeated. Start looking at competitors as an opportunity to learn from or collaborate with.
Shiny object syndrome will have you all over the place and your focus on all the wrong things . . . if you allow it.
Everyone experiences imposter syndrome from time to time, even the greats! You’re not alone.
Having confidence in business is extremely important because you’ll be faced with many difficult decisions. If you don’t trust and believe in yourself, then you’re never going to find the success you want.
So, rip off those blinders!
Take messy action!
And build a tribe!
