Picture it: three entrepreneurs selling the same product, at similar price points, and with the same marketing strategies.
One makes 1K a month — the other, 10K. The third entrepreneur makes 100K per month.
It happens more than you think.
So, what’s the big difference between these business owners? Besides the profits they make, it’s their MINDSETS.
You’ve started a business, so you’ve got some confidence in yourself and your dreams. But it doesn’t stop there. Chances are, you’ve still got some limiting beliefs standing in the way of your success.
This article will break those down and show you the top three mindset shifts you need to make. A digital transformation requires a mindset shift and some unlearning along the way.
Ready? Let’s get to it.
All right, let’s talk about FEAR first on the list.
You’ve probably got at least one entrepreneur you look up to. You see them crushing it on social media, and they seem so confident and like things just work out for them.
Look, Imma give it to you straight — what you’re seeing is the end result. You don’t see the sleepless nights, tears, and, well, fear that person has had to deal with on their journey.
The most successful people are still people. They feel afraid and struggle with their confidence, too, even after they’ve hit it big.
So, what’s the big difference between these successful people (who still experience fear) and those who get stuck and paralyzed?
It’s not the lack of fear. It’s that successful people have learned how to move past the fear, and quickly too.
Feelings aren’t facts, y’all.
In terms of your vision and goals, I want you to ask yourself:
When you start feeling afraid, what is it that you’re really afraid of?
It’s fear of failure, with a dash of fear of success tossed in for good measure.
What happens is when we’re afraid, we start to rationalize things. We start to fall down that rabbit hole of what if’s and worst-case scenarios. Got news for you — that fear is what’s stopping you from taking action and leveling up.
A big one I see over and over again with entrepreneurs is the fear of scarcity. But guess what? Having a scarcity mindset will become your reality.
Well then, you’re setting that fear into motion, and it becomes your reality. How so? Because it’s the story you’re telling yourself.
Play any story over and over in your mind, and it won’t stay there, locked in your head. You’ll start living it and experiencing the pain before it even happens — if it ever happens.
The thing about worst-case scenarios is they usually don’t happen. Like, ever.
So ask yourself, what’s the worst thing that could happen if you fail? How about if you succeed?
Look, I’m no Pollyanna. I know bad stuff can and sometimes does happen. But it’s hardly ever the worst thing that could happen.
You’ve come up against adversity before. If something bad happens, it won’t be your first rodeo. Think about those times you hit a wall. Guess what?
It’s not happening now. You’re still here. World didn’t end.
Remember that. Save yourself years of heartache and pain and of paralyzation because you fear a worst-case scenario that probably won’t even happen. And if it does, you know you’ll get right back up again.
You could fail 3X over and still be further ahead than people who sit idle and do nothing because they’re too afraid to make the wrong move.
Stop telling yourself bullshit stories and switch it around. Think about what’s the best-case scenario that could happen? What would that look like?
Your past doesn’t define you (I came from nothing and felt like it for years). Stop making excuses. Any excuse is an excuse! Stop the self-sabotage now and start being your own best friend.
That comfort zone your behind has started to mold to feels great and all. But nobody ever grows in the comfort zone. My advice is to get out of your comfort zone and stay out!
The minute I start feeling comfortable, I have to tell myself to look for a challenge. I’ve got to intentionally get out of it because I won’t grow. My husband calls it the no-money zone.
You will never realize what you’re capable of if you hang out there.
Your confidence is a mirror to your clients. So how do you look? How are you showing up for them? They’ll pick up on your confidence and conviction and mirror it back to you.
Sometimes, we’ve got to know how not to be in order to change.
Here’s your confidence do’s and don’ts.
If you’re not confident, you’ll attract the same. Insecure people aren’t attracted to confident people.
This has real-world consequences for the health of your business. Because your confidence and conviction mindset?
Pricing is more about belief than anything else. You’ll get the exact price you believe you’re worth – the one you can charge with confidence.
It takes guts and resilience to be successful. You’ve already shown you have guts by investing in your business. But resilience, that’s something you’ve got to start cultivating.
Real life isn’t that you are going to do version #1, and that’s it. Time to pack up and mold my behind to the comfort zone.
The reality is you have to move past the obstacles.
You know what they say — more money, more problems. Money just amplifies what you have, so making more money will only bring more significant issues if you don’t fix your fundamentals — your mindset.
As entrepreneurs, we’re paid to overcome difficulties. Focus on what you can control! Take massive action.
Everyone wants it done, like, yesterday. With one-click buy and next-day delivery, speed is critical in the business world. How fast you move can make or break you.
This goes back to the other mindset shifts on this list. You’ve got to be decisive, take action, and have conviction in your beliefs, so you can what?
When you get over your fear and work on your confidence, you’re not going to waffle around in your decisions. You’ll be able to act quickly.
Because if you don’t? Your competitors will. Your audience expects you to act quickly. If you don’t, they’ll go to someone who does.
The faster you learn, the quicker you’re going to evolve. Work on the other two mindset shifts on this list, and your speed to perform will increase.
Transform your business when you unlearn the fear and shift your mindset toward growth!
The more you work through the fear, the more success you’ll have. The one thing all successful people have in common is a really badass mindset.
They’re confident and lead with conviction. If you want to stay competitive and grow your business, you need to be confident and lead with conviction too. Your business is a reflection of your fears and your insecurities. They’re on full display once you hang your shingle out.
